A Club Council meeting was held this Sunday in Poznan. Reports about this year's winter camp and the pre-visit in Turkey (part of the Eclipse Hunters project) were given. After that there was discussion about our plans for the next few months: spring seminars, green schools in Zalecze Wielkie, participating in the Science Picnic in Warsaw and summer camps.
The summer camp for young people from gymnasiums is scheduled for 16–29 of July, applications are managed by Marcin Nowakowski. The second camp — for groups 2004 and 2005 — is planned for 30 of July–12 of August.
We have a new Club Member — Aleksandra Wozniak. Congratulations! The Council also decided to strike Kazimierz Friedrich and Krzystof Kowalczyk from the Club Members' list.

This year's winter camp has come to an end. The participants were mainly from the 2005 group, but we had some visitors from 2003 and 2004 groups. As usual, there were lectures on mathematics and informatics as well as talks spoken by the participants and activities in English. Unfortunately, there were little observations, due to heavy clouds. The winter camp scheduled for 19 15 of February is cancelled due to small number of applications.

Both Polish and Turkish ‘Youth’ programme agencies have approved our application for funding a joint project by ‘Almukantarat’ and ‘Tutulum’: ‘Eclipse Hunters’. Our members and affiliates will travel to Turkey to watch a total solar eclipse on the 29 of March. More on the project can be read in AstroNEWS.

Applications for the winter camp for groups 2003 and 2004 are open. It will take place on 19–25 of February, and will cost 285 PLN. The person responsible is Wojtek Rutkowski, details can be found on the camp website.

The cost of the winter camp for group 2005, which is scheduled for 12–18 of February will be 285 PLN. Details are avaiable on the camp website.

All Members and friends of the Club are welcome to apply for the camp in Nadwarcianski Grod. This year the Club celebrates its 10th anniversary as a registered association. The camp will start on the 23 of July and end on the 29 of July. The full cost will be 222 PLN or 27 PLN per day (you can even come for one day only!). Applications should be sent before the 8 of July to Wojciech Warkocki. See you in Zalecze!

The yearly summer astronomical camp for young people from the 2004 group will take place in Nadwarcianski Grod on 1–13 of August. The camp for currently in the last class of gymnasium is scheduled on 14–27 of August.

Science Picnic will take place on 4th June between 11 and 20 o'clock in Warsaw, New Town Marketsquare. The Picnic's watchwords are ‘physics’ and ‘radio’. ‘Almukantarat’ will participate in this event. Welcome!

Spring seminar for the 2004 group will take place in Toruń, from 30th April through 3rd May. Apply to Piotr Fita until 10th April. The cost of participation amounts to 140 zł.

The Club Council has gathered this Saturday.
- Mateusz Wolski joined the Club as a Member. Congratulations!
- Mariusz Tokarski resigned from the Council. Agata Karska accepted an invitation from the Council to join it's ranks.
- The membership fee remains unchanged.
- The Club will appear on the 9. Science Picnic by Radio Bis.
- The Club will make effort to organize an expedition to Portugal to observe the annular solar eclipse.
- There are three camps planned for this summer:
- at the end of July for the oldest group,
- 1–14 August for the 2004 age-group
- 15–28 August for newcomers.
The details will be presented by those organizing the camps.

This Saturday, the 5. of March, the Club Council will Gather. The meeting will take place at the Physics Institute of the University of Warsaw (Warsaw, Hoża 69), at 11:00.

This year's winter camps have finished. The first camp, intended for age-groups 2002 and 2003 took place between the 30. of January and the 6. of February. It's Commandant was Piotr Fita, and it was organized by Łukasz Wiśniewski (we wrote about that camp in AstroNEWS). The second camp (7–13 of February) consisted of young people from the age-group 2004. It's Commandant was Leszek Błaszczyk (you can read about it in AstroNEWS).

Sunday at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (Bartycka 18) will we an Open Day. Popular lectures, presentations and other events are planned. Of course ‘Almukantarat’ will be there too. We invite all guests to visit our stall!

This year's autumn seminars have finished — in Chorzów (for the 2002 and 2003 age-groups) and in Funka (for the 2004 age-group). The next two upcoming large events are the winter camps, but before that, the Club will participate in the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center Open Day — this Sunday, on the 21. of November in Warsaw.
